If it’s your first time and you can’t spot the suite, call 801-274-3889 and we’ll get you pointed the right way. Give yourself a couple of extra minutes for the first visit so you’re not walking in feeling rushed.

We’re open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to noon. We’re closed Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday. If we’re closed when you need us, you can book online through Zocdoc at any hour and we’ll see the request when we open.

No — Tuesday is one of our closed days, along with Saturday and Sunday. It catches people off guard, so it’s worth saying plainly. If Tuesday is the only day that works for you, call 801-274-3889 and we’ll look for a time that does.

Call us at 801-274-3889, book online through Zocdoc, or send a note through our contact form and we’ll call you back. You don’t need a referral from another dentist to come in. If there’s anything that would make the visit easier on you, tell us when you book and we’ll make a note of it before you arrive.

Yes, and most people prefer to. Our patient forms are online, so you can fill them out at home instead of in the waiting room — the link is on our Patient Forms page. If you’d rather do them here, just come a few minutes early.

Bring a photo ID, your insurance card if you have one, and a list of any medicines you take. If you’ve had X-rays or dental work somewhere else recently, those records help too. And if you’ve been writing down questions, bring the list — nothing on it is too small to ask.

It starts with a conversation about what brought you in and what has bothered you in the past. Our team cleans your teeth, we usually take X-rays, and then Dr. Cannon looks everything over and tells you in plain words what he sees. You leave knowing where things stand and what your options are, and you decide what happens next.

No. People stay away for all kinds of reasons — money, time, a bad experience a long time ago — and Dr. Cannon has heard every one of them without flinching. You’ll get an honest look at where things stand and a plan you can start when you’re ready. For most people, the hardest part of the whole thing was picking up the phone.

You are not the first person to sit down in that chair and start with an apology, and you won’t be the last. Nobody here is going to make a face or a comment about it. We’d far rather see you now than have you put it off another year, and we can take it one step at a time as slowly as you need.

Tell us when you book, and tell us again when you sit down — it changes how we run the appointment. Dr. Cannon works at an unhurried pace, tells you what he’s about to do before he does it, and makes sure the area is fully numb before he starts. If you need to stop for a minute, raise your hand and we stop. Patients who dread the dentist are a normal part of our day, not a problem.

Most routine visits — a cleaning, an exam, a filling — are more boring than they are painful. Anything that could be uncomfortable is numbed first, and Dr. Cannon waits until the numbing has fully taken hold before he begins. If you feel something you don’t like, say so and we’ll stop and take care of it.

Yes. Dr. Cannon opened Pinnacle Dental in October 2002 and he’s the dentist you’ll see. It’s a small team at the front desk and in the back too, so after a visit or two you won’t have to explain yourself from scratch.

Sí — every member of our team speaks Spanish. You can call, ask questions, go through your forms and talk through your treatment in Spanish. You don’t need to bring anyone along to translate for you.

We do. We’re a family practice, so parents and kids can keep the same dentist and the same office. Dr. Cannon is a general dentist rather than a pediatric specialist, and he’ll say so plainly if your child ever needs care he doesn’t provide.

About every six months suits most people. Some mouths need more frequent visits, and if yours is one of them Dr. Cannon will explain why rather than just putting it on the schedule. If you’re overdue by years, don’t let that stop you — start with one visit and go from there.

We accept Cigna, MetLife, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Dental Select, Delta Dental and Deseret Mutual. If your plan isn’t on that list, call 801-274-3889 with your card handy and we’ll help you work out what it covers before you come in.

A lot of our patients don’t, and it doesn’t change how you’re treated here. We work with CareCredit, which lets you spread payments out over time, and we offer an in-office membership plan that covers exams, X-rays and cleaning for a flat fee. We’ll go over what something costs before we do it, so the bill is never a surprise.

It’s $150 to join, or $100 for a second member of the household. That includes your X-rays and exams for a full year, your first cleaning free and the second for $100, and 20–35% off other treatment depending on the procedure. It’s built for patients without insurance — ask us and we’ll be straight with you about whether it would actually save you money.

We don’t quote prices online, because the honest answer depends on what’s actually going on in your mouth. Once Dr. Cannon has looked, you get the cost before anything gets started. If you have insurance we’ll help you check what it covers, and if you don’t, CareCredit and our membership plan are both worth a look.

Cash, checks and credit cards, plus CareCredit if you’d rather pay over time. If your plan is one we accept, bring your card and we’ll sort out the coverage side with you. If money is the reason you’ve been putting off a visit, say so — it’s a normal conversation here, not an awkward one.

Tell whoever answers what happened, and we’ll get you in as soon as we’re able and tell you what to do in the meantime. If you’ve had an injury to your head or neck, get checked at the emergency room or by your doctor first — the tooth can wait until you’ve been seen.

Severe or lasting tooth pain, a cracked or fractured tooth, a chipped or broken tooth, a tooth knocked partly or all the way out, a filling or crown that has come out, or damage to your gums, tongue, cheeks or lips. Pain that keeps you awake counts too. When you’re not sure, call and ask — that part is free.

Call us right away — the sooner we see you, the more options there tend to be. If the tooth or the broken piece came out, find it and bring it with you. Our team will talk you through what to do until you get here. If it happened from a blow to the head or face, go to the emergency room first.

It has a much worse reputation than it deserves. The pain people associate with a root canal is usually the infection that sent them in — the treatment is what takes that away. The tooth is numbed first, and Dr. Cannon checks in with you as he goes. For most people it feels like a longer version of having a filling done.
